Top sakal bırakmak caizdir, Fakat sünnet değildir. Yani bu şekil sakal bırakmak Peygamber Efendimiz (asm)'in bir uygulaması değildir.
Efendimiz (asm)'in hayatına baktığımızda, çok küçük denebilecek hal ve hareketlerde bile başkalarına benzemekten Müslümanları yasakladığını biliyoruz. (Ebu Davud, Libas 4; Müsned, II/50; Tirmizi, İsti'zan 7)
Belki de bu hadislerin ruhundan hareketle söylenen,
"Kalıbı ile başkalarına benzeyenin zamanla kalbi ile de benzeyeceği."
hakikati, bugün psikoloji ilmi de kabul etmektedir. Bu sebeple bu tür bir sakal tarzını hoş karşılamak doğru değildir. Ancak bir maslahata binaen böyle bir sakal bırakılıyorsa buna bir şey denemez. Ancak bu maslahatı da kişinin kendisi değil fıkıh alanında uzman olan kişiler belirleyebilir.
