Hadislerden de anlaşıldığı kadarı ile, Peygamberimiz (asm) mahşer meydanında, yani insanlar cehenneme gitmeden önce şefaat hakkını kullanacaktır.
Ayrıca şefaat hususu sadece cehennemden kurtuluş için olmayabilir. Mesela, kişinin cehennemdeki azabının hafiflemesi veya cennetteki makamının artması için de şefaat edilebilir.
